Female characters and roles in the German-Turkisch literature

Subject of the present thesis is an analysis of the role of women in German-Turkish literature at the example of two novels of Emine Sevgi Özdamar and Selim Özdoğan. At first, the thesis gives an overview of the history of the Turkish immigrants in Germany. Subsequently, the term of migrant literature is explained. These explanations are followed by a portrait of the authors and an analysis of their specific way of writing. Then the role of women in islamic culture is explained. Afterwards, the role of women in the novels "Life Is a Caravanserai: Has Two Doors I Came in One I Went Out the Other" and "The Blacksmith's Daughter" is analyzed. The thesis concludes with a comparison of the novels and a summary of the results of the analysis.

Immigrant voices: Non-native authors in the contemporary Austrian literature on the example of Radek Knapp and Dimitré Dinev

SUMMARY: This thesis deals with the phenomenon of German migrant literature in the context of contemporary Austrian literature. The theoretical part is about general questions of the migrant literature in German-speaking countries - from the search of a suitable term to the dispute about its justification - and further there is a description of the specific situation in Austria. The second and the third part are dedicated to the presentation of two exponents of this sort of literature, the Pole Radek Knapp and the Bulgarian Dimitré Dinev. Based on the analysis of their two most important novels, Herrn Kukas Empfehlungen and Engelszungen, the presence of themes and motifs referring to their origin or migrant experience was confirmed. Nevertheless, as the comparison with their complete works shows, these themes and motifs are definitely not the exclusive ones.

Milan Červenka, Some souvenirs - For them who come after

This text presents and analyses a not yet published writing Quelques souvenirs - A ceux qui viennent après (Some souvenirs - For them who come after) written by a Czechoslovak emigrant living currently in France Milan Cervenka (before emigration called Červenka). Work is introduced with a brief description of historical situation in Czechoslovakia after the Second World War and thus explains major reasons for leaving the country. The main part consists of an analysis of the autobiographical writing from different points of view (genre, linguistics, literary theory). Regarding this analysis it is demonstrated that writing does not contain significant literary qualities, however, it is a valuable personal contribution to the area of migrant literature.

Migrant literature or anti-heroic novel. Michael Stavarič´s \kur{Stillborn}.
MARYŠKOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the issue of classifying the Austrian writer Michael Stavarič and his works as migrant literature. Due to the author´s moving in early age from Brno to Vienna the problem of language change will be mentioned. A detailed analysis of Stavarič´s novel stillborn follows. It pursues especially the characteristic of the main character, the narrative strategy and possibilities of interpretation of this work. In the same chapter I will try to disprove the general claim that the mentioned work classifies only as migrant literature. Evidence that this book shows also signs of an anti-heroic novel will be submitted. This task is concluded with a critique of the Czech translation by Radka Denemarková (Mrtvorozená Eliška Frankensteinová) which focuses on the differences between the original and translation.
